The \u201cPica d\u2019Estats\u201d Awards are aimed at information and communication professionals\u00a0who have published or broadcast journalistic work in any genre or format (radio, television, press and digital media) about the attractions of the Pyrenees and the Lands of Lleida. [\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;] The \u201cPica d\u2019Estats\u201d Awards are annual awards created by the Patronat de Turisme of the Diputaci\u00f3 de Lleida to recognise the work of journalists and content creators that help disseminate, promote and publicise worldwide the natural, heritage and cultural resources of the Pyrenees and the Lands of Lleida that inspire travel to the destination and support the tourism industry as one of the territory\u2019s most important economic sectors. The \u201cPica d\u2019Estats\u201d is renowned for both the quality of the work submitted and the standing of the jury members, as well as the rigour and commitment of the Catalonia Journalists\u2019 Association, who have chaired the jury over the event\u2019s extensive history. The Award for the best journal article went to \u201cSolson\u00e8s, la comarca de las mil mas\u00edas\u201d, written by Elena del Amo and published on 29 September in Viajar. The article looks at some of the main features of this county and its capital, Solsona, and focuses on its monuments, nature and sociological values, as well as the tourist attractions the area has to offer. The Award for the best radio entry went to the series of four reports \u201cJulionejant per Lleida\u201d, by Merc\u00e8 March, broadcast on Saturdays in July 2024 by R\u00e0dio Lleida &#8211; SER Catalunya throughout Catalonia. The reports focus on emblematic festivals such as the Raiers Festival, the Iron Fair, the Iesso Roman Market and the Dans\u00e0neu, Festival of Pyrenean Cultures. The Award for the best audiovisual entry went to the television report \u201cLa cassola de tros de Linyola\u201d, broadcast on 15 October 2023 on La 2 as part of the programme La recepta perduda. The report explains the origins, ingredients and characteristics of this typical dish of El Pla d\u2019Urgell and contextualises the character of this region through interviews with some of its inhabitants. The Award for the best journalistic report went to the article \u201cHostal de Pin\u00f3s. 500 anys donant menjar\u201d, by Oriol Clavera and Narc\u00eds Clotet, published in April 2024 in Descobrir. The report focuses on this legendary establishment in El Solson\u00e8s, one of the oldest in Catalonia, and explains its history, location, anecdotes and cuisine. The Award for the best photographic report went to \u201cLa Panadella, la frontera del paisatge\u201d, a report with images by Santi Iglesias published in the spring of 2024 in Horitzons. The work takes the form of a singular visual journey, through curious and poetic images of the surroundings of the N-II road, through the counties of La Segarra, L\u2019Urgell, El Pla d\u2019Urgell and El Segri\u00e0. The Award for the best work published in local media went to \u201cJosep Vallverd\u00fa, un horitz\u00f3 de 100 anys\u201d, a programme produced by Carles Gen\u00e9 and Eugeni Casanova and broadcast on 28 October 2023 by Lleida Televisi\u00f3. The work is a spoken autobiography of the writer from Lleida, with several anecdotes from his life. The Award for the best international press entry went to the report \u201cLe Segri\u00e0, Terres de Ponent\u201d, published by Marie Costa in June and July 2024 in Cap Catalogne. It is a comprehensive and detailed tour of the main monumental, cultural, natural, scenic, gastronomic and oenological attractions of the region of El Segri\u00e0 and its capital, Lleida. Finally, the Award for the best transmedia entry went to the report \u201cRecogida de la oliva\u201d, by Mar\u00eda Jes\u00fas Tom\u00e9, published in October 2023 on the Tusdestinos.net website. The work, which combines text, photographs and video, focuses on olive oil tourism and includes an explanation of some specific experiences organised in the region of Lleida. The jury The awards jury met on 8 February to decide the winners of this 35th edition. The dean of the Catalonia Journalists\u2019 Association, Joan Maria Morros, presided over the jury. The journalists Francesc Canosa,\u00a0Noelia Casellas, Josep Cun\u00ed, Pepa Fern\u00e1ndez, Llu\u00eds Foix, Francesc Guillaumet, Anna S\u00e0ez, Mariano Palac\u00edn and M\u00f2nica Terribas were also members of the jury.
