Along the route, hikers can discover some of Aran\u2019s least known landscapes and contemplate the sight of fir, oak and beech forests, as well as enjoying exceptional views from the Port de Vielha and discovering why the route is called as it is. The water that surges from the mountains is constantly present throughout the majority of the itinerary. It is also possible to enjoy magnificent views of imposing mountains such as el Forcanada, el Tuc de Moli\u00e8res and to see the peaks of Aneto and Maladeta, amongst others. It is recommended to take two cars when following this route: it is possible to leave one at the beginning and the other at the end of the itinerary. It is possible to complete the route in about 5 _ hours, with it involving a change in altitude of 844 metres.
