Partout où porte le regard, nous découvrons une cabane où se réfugier ou des talus séparant les cultures. Ce sont des murets en pierres sèches empilées avec l’habileté d’un maître artisan, vestige d’une société qui vivait autrefois dans les champs. Une vie transmise de génération en génération au sein des familles. De ce dévouement pour la terre est née également une grande tradition potière dans le district. Verdú en est la principale représentante et a été déclarée Zone d’intérêt artisanal du fait de la présence d’artisans qui nous dévoilent leur technique, tant en poterie traditionnelle qu’en poterie plus moderne et artistique. C’est ainsi qu’on voit prendre forme sous nos yeux des objets magiques et traditionnels tels que des cruches. Dans cet esprit de culte du passé, chaque année à la Saint-Jacques, les habitants de Nalec reprennent les anciennes fourches traditionnelles et nous invitent au Bal des fourches. Cette danse d’anciens faucheurs réunit proches et amis en un grand cercle, au retour du Bal de Sant Ferriol qui nous fait sentir comme si nous étions du village. Le district renoue avec son passé lié à l’élevage à l’occasion de la Fête des Tres Tombs (trois tours) d’Anglesola. Cette festivité conjugue foire médiévale, exposition de bétail et grand défilé de charrettes.
