Black-winged stilt

A very common wader, found along migratory routes. It nests in marshes and near ponds, shallow rivers and all kinds of submerged areas, whether of fresh or brackish water. In the local districts of Western Catalonia, it often chooses to nest in rice paddies and other wet areas. Over the last two decades, its population in Lleida has expanded its territory in the easternmost local districts.
