A sedentary species that only lives in the Pyrenees. Preferably found in alpine and subalpine meadows and generally at altitudes above 2,000 metres. Around half of the entire Iberian population is concentrated in the Catalan Pyrenees. The bulk of the population can be found following the alpine stage between the Val d'Aran and La Cerdanya
